GREATER KUDU

After staying awake an entire night in a Leopard
blind through stars and then a downpour, and
after being disappointed because all that came to
feed was a small cat and a honey badger.  While
on the way back to camp I spotted 4 large bull
Kudo.  Choosing the largest of the 4, I took careful
aim at him and killed him with one shot at 60 yards
withmy 300 Weatherby.  He only about 10 yards
and dropped.

Some say this is the most beautiful of all the
antelope because of the majestic elegance of the
the spiral horns.  These horns spiral to 56 inches.
This animal is interesting to track as it goes so far
and then stops and hides in the brush to see what
the hunter is doing.  Choga was my tracker and
Colin was the Professional Hunter.

We had tracked 4 bulls along a dry riverbed the
day before but they kept catching our scent and
loosing us.  My PH (Professional Hunter) Colin
Welensky, climbed several trees during the stock
to spot these animals.

This Greater Kudu was put into a shoulder
mount. (Above)
